Cockroaches
Also known as German cockroach, Oriental cockroach
German cockroaches are tan with two dark stripes behind the head, while Oriental cockroaches are larger and much darker. Both are mainly active at night and favour sheltered areas with warmth, moisture and a reliable food source.

What to do now
In food premises, isolate exposed food, clean spills and record where insects are seen. Avoid aerosol sprays or moving infested equipment, which can disperse activity. Same-day professional advice is recommended where there is confirmed activity.
Signs of an infestation
- Live insects seen after dark or when equipment is moved
- Small pepper-like droppings around harbourage
- Egg cases, cast skins or a persistent musty odour
- Activity behind appliances, around drains or inside service voids
Risks to health and property
Cockroaches can contaminate food, utensils and preparation surfaces as they move through waste and damp areas. They may carry microbes and contribute to indoor allergens, and established activity can spread quickly through connected spaces.
Where you will find it
- Commercial kitchens and food stores
- Behind appliances and inside service voids
- Drains, basements and plant rooms
- Warm, humid areas with limited disturbance
How treatment works
We inspect and monitor to identify the species, extent and main harbourage. A professional treatment plan is then combined with cleaning, moisture control, proofing and follow-up checks to address concealed activity and new hatchlings.
Preventing it coming back
Keep food and waste sealed, clean beneath equipment, repair leaks, inspect incoming deliveries and seal suitable service gaps once activity has been brought under control.
